Every day from 03.00 pm to 04.00 pm children spend their time with activities chosen by their parents.

The offer of interest groups is large, indeed, and it is up to you and your child which one you choose. A fee is charged for some of the interest groups. 

Music Teaching  Children like this interest group a lot; they learn to sing the best-known English and Slovak songs and play music instruments. Little musicians are enthusiastic about playing music, and they practice their ear for music and rhythm. Singing is often accompanied with movements. We will attend a real concert and prepare a small performance.

Logico

In this interest group, children play with the Logico Primo didactic tool, which aims to develop logic, fine motor skills and concentration. It is an exceptional activity during which children play and, at the same time, learn in a spontaneous and simple way. We will help children distinguish colours and geometric shapes, and develop their visual perception. Children learn to compete and be responsible. The best of them will have the opportunity to join the Logico children’s olympics organised for children from several kindergartens.

Little Rescuers This interest group aims at showing children the importance of health. They get basic information on the human body and on how to take care of it correctly. They will learn to provide first aid, react to various accidents, and prevent such accidents. We will invite a doctor to speak to the children, we will look at an ambulance car, and we will also be visited by rescue workers of the Slovak Red Cross.

From Fairy Tale to Fairy Tale       

All children like fairy tales. This is why we offer the possibility for your children to enter fairy tales and live through everything the little fairy-tale heroes have faced. While reading a fairy tale, our teacher needs the help of our small listeners. They can act out the situations and fates of the heroes, stage whole scenes from the books,  and, at the end, paint their book friends. And naturally, every story offers a moral to be explained. This interest group represents a combination of reading, dramatic and graphic activities.   

Smart Art

This art therapy group is run by Mrs. Zuzka, a child psychologist. Together with the children she produces lovely things: she shows them how to cut out images, patch things up, model with clay, decorate with needlework and many other interesting things. Her kind approach and expert view of the children helps our teachers understand each child’s individuality and personality. Mrs. Zuzka can also give valuable advice to parents. Children like this interest group a lot and always look forward to what Zuzka has prepared for them.

Creative Art

In this group, children learn the different types of creative art techniques, and discover in themselves their hidden painting talent. They will also visit the children’s gallery Bibiana and display their works at their own exhibitions. Children attending the creative art interest group are co-responsible for decorating our kindergarten. We will also invite a real illustrator of children’s books and will learn to paint on glass.

Flute Playing

Under the leadership of Mrs. Evka, a teacher at the school, children will learn the correct techniques of breathing and flute playing. They can catch the rhythm very quickly and cultivate their ear for music. They will learn to play the simple melodies of well-known songs, and will prepare a small performance for their parents and friends. This interest group is mainly intended for the Butterflies and Bees classes.

Swimming The swimming class is held once a week during morning hours. Each course lasts ten weeks and is led by experienced trainers. Information about the exact dates of this interest group will always be published one month before its start.

Dancing

Children learn the basic steps of Slovak folklore dances, the best-known songs and movement games. Even the youngest children like dancing and can learn very fast. Parents look forward to regular performances of their children. We will show our children Slovak folk costumes and talk with them about Slovak customs and traditions. Even though we are an English kindergarten, we want to show our friends from foreign countries what is typical for our nation and for Slovakia. 

Multivarious Nature

Children learn everything about plants; they grow plants and take care of them, get to know different animals and visit zoos. Moreover, they learn about ecology and how to care for our Earth, about waste separation and how to behave while in a forest. They can demonstrate and practice it all directly in a forest, a meadow or a bio-farm.
